Events
From time to time there are outings for landscape painting. Locations are selected to provide an enjoyable day out at a place that is interesting to paint.
The Big Picture
Each year in May we hold a big picture day. In 2009 we chose “The Birth of Venus” by Botticelli in 2010 it was ”A bar at The Folies-Bergere” by Manet and in 2011
“Christ in His Father’s House by J E Millais Each picture presents us with a challenge. We enlarge the picture and make a colour photocopy, this is then cut into 24 pieces
and given to members to paint. Members have to work together to ensure the colours match. At the end of the day the picture is assembled and compared to the original.

Exhibitions
Our exhibition in 2011 took place in August in The Ventnor Hall. We had over 600 visitors and sold a number of framed and unframed pictures.

Best Picture in the Show
The winner of The Dupont Cup for the best picture in the exhibition was Kate Greenaway with her picture “Red wine, grapes and olives”

Art At The Duke
Art lover Martin Donovan, landlord of The Duke of Wellington in Brighton provides Dupont with two rooms in his pub for an ongoing art exhibition.
The pictures are changed every two months providing and enjoyable and stimulating setting in which to enjoy a drink.
All the art is for sale and we have sold 14 pictures so far in 2011.
Because there is limited space and to give all members a chance to exhibit their pictures, names are drawn from a hat every two months.
The Dupont Room is open pub hours.
