Events
During the summer months there are outings for landscape painting. Locations are selected to provide an enjoyable day out at a place that is interesting to paint. In the last few years we have visited Glyndebourne, Firle Place, Shoreham harbour, and the Bluebell Railway.
We are also able to join visits to galleries and art shows organised by Tutors from the Connaught Adult education centre.
Each December we hold a Christmas party.
The Big Picture
Each year we hold a “Big Picture Day”, in 2006 our picture was Renoir’s “The Luncheon of The Boating Party”. In 2007 it was “Pheasants Dance” by Peter Bruegel the elder. In 2008 we painted “ Sunday on the Grande Jatte” by Suerat. In 2009 we chose the 'Birth of Venus' by Botticelli. Each picture has presented us with a real challenge. We make a colour photocopy of the picture, this is then cut into pieces and given to a member to paint. Members have to work together to ensure the colours match. At the end of the day the picture is assembled and compared to the original.

Exhibitions
We had a change of venue for this years exhibition moving to Ventnor Hall in Blatchington Road, Hove. It was a great success with over 1000 visitors during the three days. We sold a number of paintings and browsers.

Best Picture in the Show
This year our visitors voted for a picture of two people called 'Friends on a Table'.
The winner was Graham Hanney one of our members who lives in Rottingdean.
